The government have announced the first 2023/24 Cost of Living Payment dates.
This is the first of three payments for 2023/24 totalling up to £900.
It is for those eligible and on means-tested benefits like Universal Credit or Pension Credit, in 2023/24.

They have also said there will be further payments made worth £150 for eligible disabled people and £300 for pensioners made later this year.

If you were born on or before 25 September 1956 you could get between £250 and £600 to help you pay your heating bills.
This is known as a ‘Winter Fuel Payment’.

Turn2Us has an online checker to help people find out what help may be available through benefits, grants and other sources of support.

The Blue Light card and app gives support workers and other social care staff and volunteers access to discounts online and on the high street.
The card costs £4.99 for 2 years.

The Care Workers Charity (CWC) has a Crisis Grants Programme to give small grants to people working as support workers, including Personal Assistants.
Grant awards are typically between £500 for Daily Living Costs and up to £2000 for Funeral Grants.
