Human Rights abuses of people with learning disabilities and autistic people

A group of people and organisations have  joined together to send a letter to political leaders

The letter is from people and organisations that either have lived experience, give support to people, are professionals or are families of children and adults with learning disabilities or who are autistic.

They wanted to come together to address the ongoing neglect and Human Rights abuses of people with learning disabilities and autistic people.

The letters are to ask politicians to include in their upcoming manifestos several commitments to help transform care for this group of people.

The letter also offers to meet with a group of us to co-produce these plans together.

Objecting against ticket office closures

Learning Disability England members are supporting Transport For All’s campaign objecting to the closure of train ticket offices.

They have met to talk about the impact it will have and are raising awareness of how these changes will effect people with a learning disability.

They have also supported and co-signed a joint objection letter to go against the proposals.
